NAVUBPP WEB SITE POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

Administrative


1. The Domain name for the NAVUBPP web site is http://veteransupwardbound.org
If the location of the website is ever changed that domain name should remain with the web site to avoid disruption in people finding our national information.

2. The home of the web site is paid through NAVUBPP. Should more space be required, the board of directors would have to approve the increase before any commitment was made with the company.
3. The organization runs a listserv and it should not be confused with the web site. The webmaster is only responsible for the web site.
4. This web site shall contain information only relevant to the NAVUBPP organization and must contain mission, goals and objectives of the organization.
5. The web site must contain both the NAVUBPP logo and the TRIO logo.
6. NAVUBPP shall assume no responsibility for external links found on this web site.
7. Links will not appear on the web site without board approval.
8. External links to our web site are encouraged but other sites may not copy these pages in design or specific content.
9. In the event of the hiring of a professional to design and/or run the web site, the NAVUBPP President or Treasurer may sign contracts and provide payments by organizational check.
10. If an error is found on the web site it should be reported to the webmaster who should investigate within 72 hours and take action, making corrections, if necessary.
11. Revisions to this policy must be initiated through the Technology Committee and must be approved by the NAVUBPP Board of Directors.
12. Incorporation status must be cited on the website’s front page.
13. The NAVUBPP logo may appear on local VUB web pages, but not, so as to double as the project's logo. The logo belongs to the national organization and must only represent the national group as a whole.
14. The webmaster is a volunteer position and is not compensated for work time.
15. The technology committee shall oversee the web site along with the webmaster who sits on the committee. In the case of the site being operated by contract with a web publishing firm the technology committee shall represent NAVUBPP to the firm.
16. web site ID and passwords shall be shared with the board in the event the webmaster is no longer able to maintain the site.
17. Payment for the website and domain name are the responsibility of the NAVUBPP Treasurer.
18. The web pages should contain a copyright symbol to indicate our choice to not allow people to copy what is there.
19. A statement similar to this should be placed on our links page. “These links are provided for informational purposes only and no official endorsement should be inferred.”

Posting Policies

1. Information contained on the web site must be approved by the board other than regular updates that may be accomplished as needed by the webmaster.
2. If someone wants to post information on the web site that person should contact the NAVUBPP Webmaster or the technology committee first.
3. It is the responsibility of the technology committee to review content regularly and maintain quality assurance of information contained on the site.
4. One week must be allowed after committee approval for changes to take place.
5. All materials to be place on the web site should be submitted to the webmaster through e-mail attachment. Contact the webmaster to discuss compatibility of file formats.
6. Errors on the web site should be immediately reported to the web master. Give details as to the URL and location on the page where the error occurs and provide the correct information for the correction.
